Flåt Mine is an old mining area, open to visitors. Flåt Mine was once the largest nickel mine in Europe. The shaft is 422 m deep. A total of 3.3
million tonnes of ore has been excavated here. Flåt Mine is located near Evje Mineral Trail, and the road is signposted. The upper part of the mine is open to groups by arrangement in the period between 1 May and 1.
October.
Guided tours of the mine operate in the period between 1 July
and 15 August at 1400 Hrs. (max 25 persons).
