Byklestigen is an old road which runs up the hillside about 5 km south of the centre of Bykle. The path was first mentioned in 1770. Up until 1879, it was the only road to Bykle from the south. The path is approximately 1 km long and very steep. It used to be quite dangerous, but has been restored. Boards provide information to the visitor. The path is open in the summer season. Free admission. A walk along this old road takes about 45 minutes.
